3rd
Eye Photo is a small, family run business founded in 1995 by photographer
Christina Fritsch and her
husband, Kosta Demos. The impetus for starting
3rd Eye was Fritsch’s frustration with the “cookie
cutter” approach to customer service and poor print quality control
delivered by Boston’s larger commercial photo labs. Her goal:
to provide responsive, one-on-one dark room services with the high
quality materials and consistent, reliable production standards required
by today’s professional photographer,
all at competitive rates. In short, she set out to provide
the service she wanted for herself – and
succeeded! Today, 3rd Eye’s loyal customers swear by Chris’ production
standards as a benchmark of excellence, and the company has expanded
to include other fine arts services such as digital imaging, slides,
portfolios, custom framing and on-site installation for Boston’s
vibrant visual arts community.

Christina Fritsch first started taking pictures in 1975 at the age of ten, when her parents handed her a Brownie. She continued her exploration of photography as a student at New York's Laguardia High School of Music and Art, and then at the Massachusetts College of Art, in Boston, where she studied under Laura McPhee, Barbara Bosworth, Nicholas Nixon and Abelardo Morell, and received her B.F.A. in 1989. Her work is widely collected and has been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Ms. Fritsch currently makes her home in the Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, where she shares a converted horse barn with her husband Kosta Demos, their daughters Calliope and Io, and their cat Tertius. She is represented by the Genovese/Sullivan Gallery of Boston.
